Today’s circus

Catch up!

Today I am in a diner grabbing some food before I have to be in court to testify as a witness for a former client. Just a suggestion for you all out there – no matter how much you decide to hate that person you once pledged your commitment – stop suing each other. Everybody, just do the right thing, pay for your kids and respect each others right to get on with their life. I digress . . . here I sit with some food in a booth for two – single facing the door. A woman speaks to a server who is now leaving – this woman is a regular and the owner is behind the register. In walks a man – most likely in his 80’s and stops at the register and says “here, I found this dime in your lobby and it’s on your property so technically it is yours” the proprietor says “keep it”. The man says either you take it back or I give it to charity it is your choice – it was on your property so its yours”. The proprietor said keep it. The man said – to charity it goes. I watched this occurance with delight and smiled at the man as he turned to walk to his table. He smiled back at me as I chuckled and said “how can you be honest if nobody will accept it?” I laughed and said “you just do until somebody does”. He laughed and said ‘enjoy your meal”.

The value of a dime, and more.
